BlackenedWhite ถือเป็นอัลบั้มแรกอย่างแท้จริงของ Mellowhype (ตอนแรกยังเป็นมิกซ์เทปอยู่เลย งงสุดๆ) สมาชิกมันก็มีแค่ 2 คนนั่นแหละโดย Hodgy Beats เป็นคนแร็ป/ Left Brain ทำดนตรี (แร็ปบ้างนิดหน่อย) เป็นช่วงที่ท่อนของ Earl Sweatshirt โดนตัดออกหมดด้วย ไม่รู้ทำไม ส่งผลทำให้เพลงที่ฮิตที่สุดในอัลบั้มอย่าง Chordaroy ถูกตัดออกด้วย (อย่างอัลบั้ม Goblin ของไทเลอร์ ก็มีเพลงที่ฟีทกับเอิร์ล แต่ก็ไม่ได้เอามาลงอัลบั้ม) อาจเป็นเพราะไม่ได้อยู่สังกัด Odd Future เต็มตัวก็เป็นได้ โดนแม่พาตัวไปบำบัดที่ Samoa 55555+ สภาพจิตใจแย่กว่าเดิมอีก
